Planning a group dinner in Haarlem

Two guests laughing together over dinner at Spaarne 66

ALONG THE SPAARNE · AROUND THE TABLE

A birthday, an evening with colleagues or finally getting the whole family together again: a group dinner starts with a good plan. Use this checklist to gather everyone’s wishes, then look forward to a lovely evening in Haarlem.

1. Start with your group

Put together a provisional guest list. Is everyone confirmed, or are some people still checking their diaries? Note the expected number and mention anything that is still uncertain when you enquire. Think about guests who may have particular requirements for access, seating or food. Discussing these early will help you decide whether a venue suits your group.

Spaarne 66 welcomes groups of up to 70 people. For a party of 70, you will have the whole of Spaarne. We will discuss the options for your date and group when you enquire.

2. Choose the right time for your group

A group dinner is a good way to spend an evening together. If you want to explore the city afterwards, or would rather meet during the day, a group lunch may suit you better. Getting together for drinks is another option. At Spaarne 66, lunch is served from 12:00 to 16:00 and dinner starts at 17:00; drinks are available throughout the day.

Allow for your guests’ journeys when choosing a time. Do you have other plans before or after the meal? Mention them when you get in touch. A preferred arrival time and, if relevant, a finishing time help us discuss a plan that works for you.

3. Look at the menu and your group’s wishes

Spaarne 66’s three-course group menu costs € 52,50 per person, with three dishes to choose from for each course. Fresh fries and salad are served at the table with the main courses; the grilled rib-eye carries a € 5,00 supplement.

Take a look together at our full group menu and gather details of allergies and dietary requirements in advance. Ask what options are available for guests who cannot eat certain foods. Discuss your preferences for drinks and your overall budget too, so you know what to expect.

4. Make life easier for the organiser

Choose one person to coordinate with the restaurant. Keep the group’s replies together and note which questions remain unanswered, so you do not have to keep searching through separate messages. You do not need to know everything when you first get in touch: explain which plans are confirmed and what you would like to discuss.

What to include in your group enquiry

  • Your preferred date and, if possible, an alternative.
  • The expected number of guests and anything still uncertain.
  • Lunch, drinks or dinner, with your preferred arrival time.
  • The occasion and any plans after the meal.
  • Allergies, dietary requirements and other practical questions.
  • The name and contact details of one contact person.
